Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
1. Who we are
SendRishta (sendrishta.com) is operated by Shubham Pansare, trading as SendRishta, based in Mumbai, India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use SendRishta, what we collect about people who open a biodata you share, how we use it, who we share it with and how you can have it deleted.
It applies to the website, the signed-in dashboard, the biodata pages we host and our guide pages. By creating an account or using SendRishta you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and password when you sign up with email. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see them. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Biodata content: everything you enter in your biodata, such as personal details, date, time and place of birth, horoscope details (such as rashi, manglik status and gotra), religion, community and caste, education, work, lifestyle (such as diet, smoking and drinking), family members and their details, hobbies, partner preferences, contact details, social media links and the photos you upload. Some of this may be sensitive; you choose what to include.
- AI import: if you use "Import with AI", the text you paste and the files you upload (documents or images), plus the details the AI extracted from them.
- Payments: when you buy a PDF download, the order and payment identifiers, amount, currency and status from our payment provider, Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay's checkout and are never received or stored by us.
- Messages to us: anything you send to [email protected].
2.2 Information about people who open a biodata
When someone opens a biodata link (whether or not they have an account), we record a view so the biodata owner can see how their biodata is being received. For each view we record:
- the date and time;
- approximate location (city, state and country) and the internet provider, worked out from the visitor's IP address;
- a shortened form of the IP address, with the last part removed so that it no longer identifies a single connection;
- the device type, operating system, browser and the browser's identification string (user agent).
We use this to show the biodata owner their view statistics, to filter out automated visits (bots) and the owner's own visits, and to limit abuse. The biodata owner sees the time, approximate location, device, operating system and browser of each view. They do not see the viewer's name, since we do not know it.
2.3 How you found SendRishta
When you arrive from another website or a tagged link, we note where you came from: the referring website (for example a search engine, ChatGPT, Instagram or Facebook), campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source), advertising click identifiers (such as gclid or fbclid), the first page you landed on, whether you opened it inside an app such as Instagram, and when we first saw your browser. This is kept in your browser (see section 3) and, if you create an account, stored with your account so we can understand which channels bring people to SendRishta. The same details are also sent to our product analytics provider, PostHog, with each visit (see section 2.4).
2.4 How you use SendRishta
We collect information about how visitors and users use the website and the app, to improve the product and to detect and prevent misuse and fraud. This includes:
- Session recording and heatmaps: we use Microsoft Clarity on every page of sendrishta.com, including biodata pages, the sign-in and sign-up pages and the signed-in dashboard. Clarity records how the page is used: clicks, taps, scrolling, mouse movement, pages visited and what was displayed on screen, and builds heatmaps and session replays from it. Clarity masks passwords and many form fields, but content shown on the page, such as the text of a biodata, may appear in recordings.
- Product analytics: we use PostHog on every page of sendrishta.com to count page views and see how visitors move through the site: the pages you open and in what order, the website or tagged link you arrived from, clicks on buttons and links, steps such as signing up, choosing AI import or the form, finishing your biodata, opening the PDF preview, starting, completing or cancelling a payment, copying your share link or downloading your PDF, whether an upload or import failed and a short reason (such as a file type or size), which kind of contact detail (phone, email or a social profile) a reader of a biodata taps, but never the detail itself, browser and device type, and the approximate location derived from your IP address. PostHog gives your browser a random identifier. If you sign in, we link that identifier to your account ID (not your name, email or phone number) so we can see which pages led to a signup. PostHog does not record your screen, and the text shown on the page, such as the contents of a biodata, is not sent with click events.
- Product activity: sign-in times, when you open your dashboard, and steps such as starting sign-up, creating an account, starting a biodata and publishing it, including whether you arrived from someone else's biodata.
- Technical and security data: IP address, browser and device details, pages requested, referrer and error information, processed by our hosting and security providers when your browser loads the site.
- Site analytics: page views, referring websites, device type and country, reported by our hosting provider.
4. How we use information
- To create, host and share your biodata, and to generate its PDF and link preview.
- To show you who has viewed your biodata, in the form described in section 2.2.
- To fill in your biodata from text or files you give us (AI import).
- To process payments and keep records we are required to keep.
- To understand how people find and use SendRishta and to improve the product.
- To keep SendRishta secure, detect and prevent fraud, abuse, spam and automated misuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To send you account emails, such as sign-up confirmation and password reset, and important service messages.
- To send you updates about SendRishta. You can ask us to stop at any time by emailing [email protected].
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
5. Who can see your biodata
- Anyone with the link. Your biodata page, including your photos, contact details and every field you filled in, can be opened by anyone who has its link. People you send it to can forward it to others.
- Link previews. When the link is shared on WhatsApp and similar apps, the preview shows your name, a photo, age, city and mother tongue, unless you change the preview in your dashboard.
- Photos are stored at web addresses that anyone who has the address can open.
- Search engines. Biodata pages are marked "do not index" and are excluded from our sitemap, so search engines are asked not to list them. This is a request that reputable search engines follow, not a guarantee.
Share your biodata link only with people you trust, and only include information you are comfortable sharing that way.
6. Service providers and sharing
We use the following providers to run SendRishta. They process personal data on our behalf, for the purposes described here:
- Lovable (with its infrastructure partners): website hosting, database, file storage, authentication, sending emails and site analytics.
- Cloudflare: security, content delivery, link previews and the location lookup used for biodata views.
- Google: Google sign-in if you choose it, the AI model used for AI import (Gemini, accessed through Lovable's AI gateway), and Google Fonts.
- Microsoft: Clarity session recording and heatmaps.
- PostHog: product analytics (page views, how visitors move through the site and where they came from), processed in the European Union.
- Razorpay: payment processing.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or a valid order of a court or government authority, to protect the rights, safety or property of SendRishta, its users or others, or to investigate fraud or abuse. Some providers store or process data on servers outside India.
7. AI features and connected assistants
AI import: the text and files you submit are sent to an AI model to extract your biodata details. We keep the submitted text, files and the extracted result with your account, to let you import again, to investigate problems and to enforce usage limits (currently 10 imports a day). Please check what the AI filled in before you publish, because it can make mistakes.
Connected AI assistants: if you choose to connect an AI assistant to your SendRishta account, it can read your biodata and your view statistics for as long as the connection is authorised. That assistant's provider handles what it receives under its own privacy policy.
8. How long we keep information
- Account, biodata and photos: until you ask us to delete them.
- View records of your biodata: as long as your biodata exists, so you can see its history. They are deleted when your account is deleted.
- AI import submissions: until your account is deleted.
- Payment records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after your account is deleted.
- Session recordings and site analytics: for the retention period set by the provider (Microsoft Clarity, PostHog and our hosting provider).
- Security and email logs: for as long as needed to operate and secure the service.
9. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update your information (most of it you can edit yourself in the dashboard);
- ask us to delete your account and data (section 10);
- withdraw consent, for example by deleting your account. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity;
- raise a grievance with us (section 13) and, if it is not resolved, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
10. Deleting your account
There is no self-service delete button yet. To delete your account, email [email protected] with the subject "Data Deletion Request" from the address linked to your account. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and delete your account, biodata, photos, AI import submissions and view records within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records). People who already received your link or a copy of your PDF may still hold it; we cannot delete copies outside SendRishta.
11. Security
Your data is stored with providers that use encryption in transit and access controls. Within SendRishta, access to account data is restricted so that you can only read and change your own account. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
12. Children
SendRishta is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Grievance officer and contact
For questions, requests or complaints about your personal data, contact our grievance officer:
Grievance officer: Shubham Pansare
Email: [email protected] (subject: "Privacy Grievance")
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
We will acknowledge your message within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes we will also tell signed-in users through the app or by email.
